'Hugh Ferris,' - really good reference for architecture in the 1920's.

This artist who created perspective drawings for buildings influenced settings in films such as; Gotham City in Batman and the film 'Sky Captain & the World of Tomorrow.'

Very similar feel to Ferriss' work with a futuristic approach.
